Welcome to ACC 111 - Financial Accounting. This is a four-credit, transfer course. This course is also Illinois Articulation Initiative (IAI) approved, which means it should transfer to any four-year university in the state of Illinois. ACC111 is usually taken and then followed by ACC112 - Managerial Accounting. Financial Accounting has a prerequisite of prior bookkeeping or accounting coursework, either in high school of Shawnee's BUS 124--Bookkeeping. This course deals with inventories, depreciation, payroll, stocks, bonds, cash flow, basic financial statements, notes receivable, bank reconciliation, multiple journals, and the basic accounting process. It is a good course to take even if you just wish to set up your own business books. This is not a computerized accounting course; you need ACC 219 Quickbooks or ACC 224 Computerized Accounting using Peachtree if you are looking for a computerized accounting course. Both of these courses are offered on-line.
I think you would enjoy ACC111 - Financial Accounting. It is a busy course but if you like to work with numbers, it will be a delightful puzzle to complete. I look forward to having you in this course.
